I recently joined Harry Curtis & Co in January 2024. I am excited for the new journey in my career path by continuing to challenge myself in my work ethic and to broaden my knowledge by learning and growing in the company.

I am currently assisting the tax department and where available, the various other departments of the firm. Being exposed to the various departments in the firm, I’ve gained a broader understanding in the accounts field which has made my work experience at the company even more delightful by working with this amazing team.

My hope is to continue to grow and achieve the goals and opportunities that present themselves in the near future within the company. My interests include reading and spending quality time with my family and friends.

I joined Harry Curtis & Co in January 2015, bringing over 12 years of experience in both tax and audit. In my current role, I oversee the Tax Department and assist with annual audits to ensure smooth operations and compliance. As a member of the South African Institute of Tax Practitioners, I am committed to staying up to date with the latest industry developments to provide the best service possible to our clients.

Outside of work, I’m passionate about golf, swimming, and reading. I’ve always envisioned being part of a firm where I feel both happy and relaxed, and I’m thrilled to say I’ve found that at Harry Curtis & Co.

I joined the practice in August 2001, having worked in the banking industry for a number of years.

Working in a very different environment, where you are now selling your time and skills, time management became even more critical. I am involved in maintaining the practices accounts as well as account processing and auditing.

Meeting so many different people and being exposed to differences in operations of so many clients, is rewarding.

The intimacy of a small practice where your contribution is valued and you are seen not merely as a cog in the workings, has been a big part of my being here 13 years.

Since joining Harry Curtis & Co in July 2002, I have gained extensive and valuable experience in auditing and accounting.

I’ve always been passionate about accounting and enjoy the challenge it brings. I pride myself in being organised with an eye to detail.

I am a person who is positive about every aspect of life and try to be happy and content in every situation. At the moment my main interest is spending quality time with my family.

I have been associated with the practice since 2002.

The diversity of the practice and experience I have gained has been very rewarding. My main involvement in the practice is Payroll. I am also involved in account processing, monthly accounts, preparation of financial statements and other statutory returns.

I enjoy assisting where I can so that my knowledge is not restricted to one area in the practice. As a member of the South African Institute of Tax Practitioners, I keep up to date with the changes imposed by SARS and sharing our knowledge with the team is imperative to the practice and the clients.

I am very grateful to be associated with the practice. Everybody at the practice is very dedicated, hardworking and focused on keeping the clients satisfied with the services that the practice provides. The warm and caring working environment provided by the practice is very hard to find and I am blessed to be associated with the practice.

I enjoy the outdoors and spending time with my family who give me so much joy and security.

I have been with the practice since 2001, my responsibilities including office and grounds maintenance.

My home town is Kieiskamahoek, King Williams Town.

I worked as a voluntary nurse at Queenstown Psychiatric Hospital and moved to Cape Town in 1984 with my family, being a housewife for many years, looking after my four daughters.

My big passion is being in my garden at home with my family.

I head the auditing department of the practice, as well as attend to the completion and submission of provisional tax returns for individuals and corporates.

Having been with the company since 1998, I have been very fortunate to be part of a happy work environment with wonderful people.

I am grateful to be given every opportunity to achieve personal and professional goals and hope to be associated with the firm for many years to come.

I have been involved with the accounting profession for more than 20 years.

After passing my Board exams with SAICA on the first attempt, I became associated with Harry Curtis & Co.

I pride myself on being a problem solver and continually strive to increase my knowledge base in this all-encompassing profession.

My duties involve Accounting & Audit, Statutory and IT Maintenance.

I started working at Harry Curtis & Co in June 2024 and it really has been a great experience.

The company values its employees and provides many opportunities to learn and grow.

I get to work with a supportive team, tackle interesting challenges, and develop my skills every day.

Being in finance for over 15 years, after completing my degree in financial accounting at Stellenbosch University, has exposed me to many areas in the industry.

However, only once I started working at Harry Curtis & Co. was I able to come full circle and witness how everything comes together.

I joined the firm in November 2020 and have already gained so much more valuable experience. My responsibilities include processing the company’s books, auditing, and various other admin tasks.

The staff makes up an excellent team dedicated to providing the best service to our clients. And I can honestly say that having a team that works well together makes for a truly pleasant working environment.

Since joining the practice in 2023, it has been a wonderful experience where I have learnt so much in the areas of accounts processing, taxation, statutory, auditing and more.

Overall, I now have a much broader perspective on the industry and so I look forward to learning more and reaching new heights with this beautiful and hard-working team I am so privileged to be a part of.

I was fortunate to be born in Ndola, Zambia, growing up on a farm full of excitement and adventure. Living life close to nature was a dream childhood. High schooling was at Marist Brothers Inanda, Johannesburg and then four wonderful years at Rhodes University. I articled with the firm Alex Aiken & Carter, which was later absorbed by KPMG.

At a time of career uncertainty, I joined the SA Defence Force after completing one of the compulsory citizen force camps, and was with the forces for five years in the Directorate Internal Audit. I worked closely with national servicemen who were qualified Chartered Accountants, developing audit programmes and systems and managing/conducting audits. My final promotion was to the rank of a major. These were five years which I thoroughly enjoyed and left with a pride that I had contributed to the improved development of the Directorates programmes.

I had matured over these past years and decided that I wanted to get back into the field in which I was trained and in which I now wanted to be committed. I joined the practice Low and Tacon, and after a few years started Harry Curtis & Co in 1988.

I have always had an interest in music, especially great vocalists, and was fortunate in meeting two musicians / producers who have greatly assisted in my realising this passion of singing.
